Hey, I was on the Splawn website and came across these Charvel style guitars that Mcnaught is making. I was just wondering if anyone has played one or seen them? If so what do you think?

McNaught = Ed Roman........ AVOID!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that is true at all. At one time Ed was the main dealer, but they seperated ways. As a matter of fact on his site he rants about how bad they are now. He's probably pissed at David about splitting ways. Does anyone have any 1st hand experience with them?Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you yunick jelly thou!

Re: Mcnaught Charvel style guitars
I am not sure of the models. These have nothing to do with Ed Roman. If you go on the Splawn site they are the three guitars pictured. They are a oiled body, red ghost flames and the bengal ones. I was just wondering what was thought about them?

I've spoken to Scott a few times about the RGF one - he calls it a Commando or something. Dave Mansel from Mcnaught did the paint, but Scott and Dave put the guitar together. I was ready to jump on it but I bought a Hamer Monaco Elite instead. Scott's a cool guy and very helpful.Tarbaby Fraser.

I think, at one point, Ed was the only dealer for McNaught, so you HAD to go thru Ed to order it. After all the complaints about Ed, he went with other dealers like Splawn. I don't know if Ed is still a dealer of new ones.
I don't have 1st hand experience with DTM, but my bud has emailed him and talked to him over the phone on several occasions and says he is nothing but the nicest guy. The reviews on H-C are all great too, except for the customer support section when they had to go thru the leprechaun!
They look like they kick ass, but for the price of one you could buy close to 2 CS Jacksons!"Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect."

Re: Mcnaught Charvel style guitars
Im not talking about the flame or quilt tops with all the bells and whistles. Im talking about this new line that are just stripped down Charvel looking guitars. It looks like they are trying to compete with Fender on the 80s market.

Re: Mcnaught Charvel style guitars
Ed Roman has a thing for playing up how great a small manufacturer is, being their exclusive dealer and then buying the small guy out. I don't know if he still does but Ed Roman did build McNaught brand guitar himself and pump them up. Sounds like things may have changed.

Re: Mcnaught Charvel style guitars
No. These guitars im talking about are made by Mcnaught himself. There is no Ed Roman involved in this at all. Check the Splawn web site to see what im talking about. They look like real nice guitars. I am thinking of getting another GMW but am waiting to see the new headstock.
I was just wondering if anyone has ever played one of these Mcnaughts and how they compare to GMW? I am also wondering what kind of money they are asking for them?
