    Re: Mcnaught Charvel style guitars

Dave is no longer affiliated with Ed AT ALL. Dumped his sorry ass a while back. Now Roman is using the guy from Moonstone to build DTM clones under the Viking name. The only two people in the DTM shop are Dave McNaught (builds the guitars) and Dave Mansel (does the finish work).

I haven't played the Splawn models yet, but if the Daves are building them, they're terrifying.

Hey Eristic, I see you live in Georgia. Are you far from the splawn shop? If not go check them out and post a review if you have the time. I am really considering giving one a shot. I have heard great stuff about Mcnaughts build quality.

Splawn Guitars is near Charlotte, NC. A good 4-5 hour drive. I've been there, though, as I used to live in NC. I've played several McNaughts, and I can tell you won't be disappointed if you grab one. Plus, Scott Splawn is a really cool guy. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him.

I don't think those guitars have anything to do with McNaught, other than Dave Mansell painting the ones with graphics. They are just necks and bodies Splawn had made up and bolted them together.

No. I talked to scott yesterday and I am under the impression that Mcnaught it making them. They look nice but if they are as much money as the other mcnaught stuff im sticking with GMW.

i played one this summer when i visited the Splawn shop. they are very good shredder guitars. the necks are thicker than old charvels but are still oiled and feel nice. the finishes are amazing.

Ask Hippietim if he played them while he was at Splawn...he went there around Christmas time then he drove down to my place for a while one afternoon.

                      Re: Paul

I can`t tell you how sick I am, Cower can`t win the big one and the Steelers are chokers. IU bleive they would have mauled the Eagles. Cower has lost 1 Super Bowl and 4 out of 5 Champianships. Ok, he has a very succesfull overall record, but in my book, if you don`t win it all, you are still a loser or 2nd. Jack.
