    New guitar (Carvin CL450) Pics.

    This was my Christmas present from my parents. It finally got here on Valentines Day after many delays even though it was ordered in November. It was well worth the wait. It sounds great amped and acoustic even though its only about 2" thick, not tinny sounding at all. Plays great too. The finish and quilt top is very nice. I can't find any flaws with the guitar. I ordered it with Dunlop 6100 frets, strap locks, blueburst finish on maple quilt top with matching headstock.

      Wow, I really want one of those. Yamaha used to have a thinline nylon in their APX line, and it was probably the best guitar in the lineup.

      Jumbo frets on a nylon string? I don't think I could trust my intonation with that. You must have a delicate touch. I've heard a lot of classical-only guys complain that the neck on the CL450 isn't fat enough. But of course they are nuts! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

                You should check one out. True the neck isn't as fat as a traditional classical guitar but thats why I wanted one. I don't think it's really geared toward the traditional classical guitarist anyway. It plays great, the neck isn't tiny but it isn't huge either. I guess I have a light touch because I don't have any problems with the jumbo frets. I suppose it would be similar to playing a scalloped guitar.
