Congrats to NOTP!
Very nice looking.
And glad you didn't spend a lot for the tax when you imported.
Great deal!

Okay, upon closer inspection, the headstock logo and diamond inlay are definitely not synthetic MOP. However, I've never seen gold MOP before. Very cool. But the fretboard inlays still stand as synthetic MOP.

Toru, the seller understated the value of the guitar on the packing label, and stated that it was a "damaged guitar sent for repair". That's why the tax was quite cheap. It was fully insured on the seller's end, so no worries, and plus, he packed it like a tank with MANY layers of bubble wrap and cardboard neck supports inside the box. I was relieved!

God, I wanna play this guitar again, but I have this damn test to study for... tomorrow evening though, I'll definitely get jiggy (man, how 90s was THAT? ) with this guitar some more.

And thanks for the compliments! The last three guitars I've bought have been, by pure luck, the best guitars I've ever played. I pray my luck doesn't run out soon.

Mike, you love Les Pauls... perhaps you want to get another high quality Japanese lawsuit like you had before? If all lawsuits are like this one I just bought, damn, I think I might be very interested in more...

I've discovered something. The shape doesn't sit well when I'm sitting down. But, standing up, the balance and angle are perfect, like my Soloist.

Sorry for so many comparisons of totally unrelated guitars, but I love trying out new gear...

Re: Pics/review of my new LES PAUL CUSTOM as promi

I noticed my Epi Lp isn't as comfortable sitting down as my strat shaped guitars, so what I usually do is move it to my left leg and turn my body a bit (like classical guitarists). I guess the way the guitar is shaped it sits further to your right and makes your left arm feel crammed into your side.
BTW-that is a slick looking guitar, and even witht he shipping and taxes and stuff was still like half the price of a Gibby. Don't take the pup covers off-they look cool. Definitely put those speed knobs on-the top hats look strange on there. COngrats!

WOW!! What a nice guitar...I've been drooling over those for a long time now. I foolishly turned one down for $650 a few months back....I'm regretting it now.

There are a few differences between that and the real deal but not enough to warrant the extra $1000+ IMO. The thing with these is that they are one of the few if only Les Paul Custom copies that actually use ebony for the fretboard.

These pop up from time to time but they are rare...congratulations. I HAVE to get one of these some day.

That's awesome. I have two Orvilles. I was so impressed with the 1st one, I bought a 2nd one, a white LP Custom, on eBay. The block inlays were crooked on that one!

I'm going to flip that one and look for one like yours.

Re: Pics/review of my new LES PAUL CUSTOM as promi

Back For More, I got it from Ebay from an American dude who has lived in Japan for the last few years and collected a whole boatload of awesome quality lawsuit guitars. He's actually a connoisseur of old Fender and Gibson guitars and was astonished at the Japanese copies that he had to get a whole bunch! I think he just recently finished selling them all off because he's planning to travel once again. I bought his last all-black Les Paul Custom copy as soon as it was listed, which he was saving until the last moment since it was his favorite one.

Best of luck to the rest of you searching for one, because I might want another as well...

Thanks for the compliments. Spent some more quality time with the guitar yesterday and it just flat-out RIPS. It currently plays better than my Shannon. I removed the pickguard and it now looks absolutely stunning. And thanks to Sully for the knob rippin' advice, it worked! But Rhmsc8 only sent me three matching speed knobs, so I'm going to go to the store today and see if they have an extra matching one so I can put them on this guitar. But thanks to Rhmsc8 once again. More pics of my LPC!

I just checked out the ESP section on Ebay again. There's definitely a Japanese seller associated with KatanaGuitars. Some cool axes that seller's got for sale!

More pics! A few tiny differences include the pickguard taken off, speed knobs put on, Dunlop Dual Design Straploks installed, and a brand new TKL Premier Series case!
