  • I joined the PRS club today

I've been shopping for a new guitar the last few months, and I finally found something... totally unexpected. I'd never played a PRS before, but decided to and was blown away! I had to pick one up a CE24 in vintage yellow. behold:

Top notch workmanship and fretwork, the pickups are hot and have amazing clarity. The trem is what sealed it... vintage trem feel, but no tuning hassels. Stays in tune even after divebombing! It surpassed my budget, but I think it's worth every penny.

Huge pic! Might want to reduce it some.

      Yeah, sorry about that.

I just noticed I didn't put the truss rod cover back on after giving the rod a slight tweak. It says "20th anniversary" on it. Don't know if that's a big deal or not, and fortunately I didn't pay any sort of premium from what I'm finding on the net.

        Looks great!
Why it doesn't have a matching headstock color or painted Black?
The headstock showing the 3pcs maple looks bit strange especially right next to the High E tuner.

Don't know about that one. The tuners are all mounted on the center piece, so maybe it's some kind of sustain enhancing this. The extra pieces are there to finish the headstock shape. The body is one piece of mahogany. Also, the "Paul Reed Smith" logo looks to be hand signed (painted).

The 20th cover's are for this year only. They are about a $40 upcharge (dealer cost).

The headstock is built that way because it is cheaper than building it as one piece of wood so they glue this side wing things on. I only know that because there is a history of the PRS magazine on newstands right now.

I love the way they play.

Sweet score, man. PRS was never my thing but as long as you can rip it up, all the power to ya.

I've got an early version of that guitar, in a great cherry sunburst. Killer guitar. Congrats!
