CHECK OUT THE NEW HANNEMAN ESPs
I think these are very cool. I actually like the LTD better, which has all the important features: neck-through, real EMGs and OFR - and EBONY, according to ESP's site, though that seems too good to be true - + a maple body and what appears to be an extra contour that the high end model lacks.

Re: New Hanneman ESP

Isn't that just the same as the older sig of a couple of years or so ago but with a floyd instead of a Kahler?
I can't help but think they'd do better with some sort of graphic as he doesn't play his plain black one that much....
Personally, I thought the urban camo with the 'S & Key' inlay looked better, but apparently the white areas yellowed real fast on them, and then there was the issue about the nature of the inlays......

It's actually the inlays I really don't care for on this model. The eagles are cool, but when it goes to dots past the 12th fret, it loses my attention. It's a pretty cool damn guitar though

I've never seen pics of him playing Floyds live. did he make the switch from Kahlers, or are they doing this because it is easier to market and mass produce?

Re: New Hanneman ESP

Since Kahler is only now getting back to mass producing their trems, I would assume it's only because the floyds are easier to aquire at the moment. But then again most companies equip their guitars with floyds, so it just might be the common thing to do, but then again look at the first point too, lol.

Re: New Hanneman ESP

I don't get signature guitars which aren't built to at least approximately the same specs as the artist's instruments.
Surely if it's a Hanneman sig, it should be a guitar that he'd be happy to play, and like those the fans know he uses. It's like the bolt-on ESP KH2: Kirk's are neck through, so all you're getting is something that looks the same from the front....that's like getting a neck through Jem or a bolt on Joe Perry LP
IMO, the core construction, pickups and hardware should be the same as on the artists guitar before it can truly be called a signature model, especially at the top end of the market.

If that's the case, neilli, then why don't Les Pauls come with low-impendance pickups, a mic output near the top strap button, and all sorts of electronics?

That's it? What a let down! I've been waiting for it to come out, hoping it would be something really cool, and this is what they come up with. I like the inlays, but otherwise it's boring.

By the way, aren't those the same inlays Kerry King used to have on his ESP sig V?

Oddly enough of the 30 or so guitars Kirk plays during the show he actually does play a bolt-on ESP fairly often

I have the earlier model Hanneman with the shitty kalher. I actually like the dot inlays on a soloist!

If the kalher was made out of real metal (instead of pot-model - particularly the saddles), it would be an ideal guitar IMHO (for a neckthrough anyway). I guess I could replace the saddles if I could find same NOS saddles, but I have not been playing the guitar anyway.
"I''ll say what I'm gonna say, cuz I'm going to Hell anyway!"
