Re: Pat Lachman now with ESP Guitars?

It is not if ESP makes instruments with no quality... ESP has fine quality the knock on ESP is they have nothing original and that is true no doubt...

Well, the other knock on ESPs is that they are overpriced compared to their competition (Jackson). But obviously Pat doesn't have to worry about that, does he?
As far as quality goes, I'd definitely say that Japanese ESPs are quality instruments. I've played some that were dogs and used to look down on them, but I just got an '80s Mirage Custom that is a great guitar. I bought it on eBay because I got a great deal, but now that I have had it in my hands, I'm perfectly willing to say that it is comparable in quality to a USA Soloist. Of course, it should be, since it is a *dead ringer* for a Soloist! ESP does copy, but they are capable of doing it very well.
Where ESP really falls down is in the terrible quality of the Korean LTD guitars. For whatever reason, they don't seem as good as some of the other brands, especially Schecter, that are produced by the Samick plant. My H-307 had very little playwear when I bought it, but the fretwork was so bad that it was unplayable with low action--I had to spend nearly $200 on fret dressing just to get it where it should have been from day one.
