I was impressed with the Angus SG more so than my 61 RI but you should get yourself an old SG Jr, those things kill!!!

Neck is chuckier on the old SG Jr's than the respective standard SG's of the same year. I had a '64 Jr as well.
I defintely wish I had not sold that now. They're little screamers.

I'm more a fan of the '70s SGs with the deeper-set neck and bigger horns. I love the SG Standards from that era--they play like a Les Paul without the bulk. One SG I'd like to try is the John Birch SG made over in England--it's neckthru, all-maple with 24 frets. Tony Iommi played them for years--it was his first guitar with the cross inlays. Of course, that's only an SG in terms of the body shape.

Here's my baby- '81 Firebrand Deluxe. I bought it new. Still have the original pickups but installed the EMGs 15 years or so ago. Sounds and plays awesome. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]
