• My GMW / Warren D collection

So you all heard about the recent trade between Nick and I for our GMW strats. The blue quilt that Nick ended up with is a sweet guitar. It has a Duncan Custom 5 in the bridge that sounded awesome through my Marshall. I highly recommend trying one of these pups out. That will definitely be in my next guitar that I order from Lee.

Anyways, I was lucky enough to add the Ratt bomber to my humble collection. Another killer guitar by Lee and Dan (and if you're reading this post Dan, you do f'n amazing work!). This has the 1 5/8" neck and a Duncan TB5 just like my crossed swords and french. These guitars play great!

So without further ado... here's a couple group shots of the Ratt bomber, french and crossed swords. Enjoy!

    Pretty cool, huh!!

          Thanks guys.

In the background is a display of some of my Hard Rock Cafe pins. There are 170 different guitars pins in that display from HRCs all over the world. I've got enough now to do a couple more displays but I just haven't gotten around to it. It fits in with my guitars that I've got hanging up and on stands around my basement. The wife is very cool about letting me have my space and my toys!

Great guitars and Warren is a great player. I really like the Out of the Cellar era. Reminds me of another favorite, Lynch.

I always tell myself that one day I will own a copy of his snakeskin guitar. I always thought the color of the skin matched so well with the maple fretboard.

Nice, very nice. I would take any of those fine axes.

Have a basement for a guitar room is nice. We don't have basements here in Texas.

                    V-e-e-r-r-y Cool! That's a sweet trio!

Also, nice butterscotch color scheme with accent lighting in your basement. Sweet lookin escape room. Let me guess...if I were to sit on that couch, I'd be facing a giant plasma or rear projection?

that's a "warren party" if i ever saw one...

on a warren note...i read some bad stuff about him on jcguitars.com. but i met ratt during the early tour where poison was opening for them, and rode along for a few dates on that tour. every guy in ratt was OUT OF THEIR MINDS...the rider specified "condoms in a variety of colors" backstage...but warren lietrally walked off stage each night and went straight to his room, didn't engage in all the "shenanigans"...i did wake up one morning to the awful sight of rikki rocket at 9 am, with runny mascara, making coffee at my place because he had spent the night with my female room mate...it was scary.

warren was always one of my fave players from that era, along with george lynch. both had tone and feel for days, something a lot of players from that era didn't quite have. and i can tell it's them pretty quick. warren gave me some of those damn stainless steel picks back then, which ended up contributing to some tendinitis issues later...had to stop using them! and i don't practice to a metronome for hours a day anymore either :-)
