I had one. It was swamp ash and the lightest guitar that I owned. It also sustained like no other guitar that I have owned. Actually the only guitar that I ever played that had more sustain was a 72 les paul deluxe. I sold it last week to fund a taylor purchase.
Damn, I love this Interweb.

Re: Any Washburn N4 fans here??

We ran a thread(s) on N4's before, try looking in the archives in you want more info.
I have one, the necks are very fast.
I'm in the process of swapping out the Lawrence for a Duncan custom. Doing that seems to be a real pain in the ass from how the pickup wiring is routed and the tightness of the routes. Both pickups are routed to the switch first not the control cavity. I also swapped out the bridgeplate for a better quality Schaller. You have to be careful with overtightening the washburn plate for the saddle holdown screws. Someone did this with mine and now the plate needs a little thread cleanup.

The switch tip is a little tall. You can swap the tip out for a short one made for a Les Paul. There was someone else with this problem and he had mentioned it in an old thread.

I'm also in the process of building one from a washburn neck that has a normal sockhead with a 5 bolt stephens cutaway and a N4 body from ebay.

I know JG has one and he really loved it when he first got it. I'm not sure if he still have it.

I had one .
It sounded great but I hated the Stephens cutaway so I had to let it go.

The N4 is a great guitar. Versatile for sure. A real players guitar. Most players either love the neck profile or hate it.

The neck on mine was a little fat, but I adapt very easily to different type of necks. So the neck didn't really bother me. I have heard that the gutiars with Buzz Fieten Tuning were a litter thicker, which mine had. Does anybody know if this is true.

Charvelguy is right about the floyd trem plate saddle hold screws being easy to strip out, happened on mine. Also correct on the switch tip. I got a Gibson one and cut it down even shorter so there was just a few threads showing in it. Now its very low and out of the way.

I have two early ones (pre "Buzz" tuning), the one with the washburn floyd has a thick neck, the one with Kahler floyd & kahler floydnut has a much thinner neck.

With the switch on the lower horn, how the hell do you hit it? Do you do windmills like Pete Townsend?

I have two of them. I have a Relic and an all black one mint that I don't touch too often. I have to say of all my guitars, my Relic is by far my favorite. I did have to switch out the fake Bill Lawrence for a real one though. I am still looking for a padauk, korina and N8 though so if anyone has one?
