New GMW Body

Guys...here is one of the bodies that will be used on the first round of the new GMW line of guitars.

It will be used to make my guitar. It is 5A grade. It will be left "au natural" with just a lite coat of trans brown on the back to make the one-piece honduras mahogany "pop" out a little.

The guitar will of course have the new GMW headstock. Not sure which one yet. I am thinking of going with an ebony fretboard and a zebra pickup. Any suggestions?

I can tell you that the new line is getting closer. It takes time to do what Lee is doing. He is going to show the new headstock designs on actual guitars at first...you will get a better feel for them like that rather than just seeing them alone in a photo.

Lee will let me know when and what I can share with the Forum. He knows that everyone is waiting to see them...but it does take time and money to get it all ramped up.

I can tell you that he has gotten some beautiful woods in lately that are going to make for some nicely figured bodies and necks.

That's a very nice piece of quilt, Monte. I'm sure it'll be a killer guitar, like any GMW.

Maybe it's just the size of the pic, but it looks like the horns are a little bit thicker and/or rounder than the old style.

Pat - I think it may be the picture...because the shapes of the bodies have remained the same as before.

Very sweet body monte! For me personally, its all about the headstock if that don't cut it then the body won't matter as much [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Nice grain on that top. Any pics of the back? Is the heel angled -- can't tell from the pic. Man, I can't wait for these to come out! Thanks for sharing.

This guitar is going to smoke. I cannot wait to see it all complete. I think the ebony neck is going to set it off nicely.

The main think to remember is that it is going to play as great as any other GMW we have gotten in the past.

The same hands are involved in building this new GMW line of guitars.

Lee sent me an actual pic of G0002, the one that I am buying, and I cannot wait to play it and post pics. I haven't been this excited about getting a guitar in a long time. That quilt on G0007 is amazing!
