Anyone have a problem getting used to a fingerboard without inlays? I've never owned one, but I'm thinking of possibly picking up a Schecter 7-string without inlays (actually, it's only got an inlay on the 12th fret ). Just wondering if I would get lost or not.

Re: Fingerboards with no inlays?
Oh yeah, good point! I do seem to look at the side dots more, especially when standing, but sometimes I like to look at the fingerboard dots when standing up. I guess I should probably try one first for myself and see.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Re: Fingerboards with no inlays?
Cool. Thanks, guys! I miss my old Ibanez 7-string and have GAS, so I think I'm gonna order a Schecter 007 Elite from MF and check it out. Plus, having a MF card gives me even more GAS! At least I've got 45 days to put it through its paces to see whether it sucks or not. I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

If you ever need inlays, here's a link courtesy of Dr Newc:

Re: Fingerboards with no inlays?
another thing that i like about no inlays is that to a certain degree, we all gravitate toward certain areas of a fretboard naturally. no inlays is kind of a cool way to get yourself out of a rut, if that makes any sense. kinda like playin blindfolded... only not.
