I personally love no-inlay fretboards ESPECIALLY with Ebony! And the project I'm about to undertake will feature a blank Ebony fretboard!

          No/minimal inlay = superior.

Blank ebony fretboards with binding rule!
Here's my ESP SRC with the Y2KV

And here's my guitar teacher Jake from Strung Out with his custom shop all Mahogany ESP M2.

I think ebony looks sexy without any inlays unless it's sharkfins.

<font color="aqua">This topic is kinda funny as I thought the same thing for a moment, then I realized I never even look at the fretboard(face) dots You'll have no problems Joe, the side dots are plenty... especially these side "dots/ovals"

I remember seeing Boston play in (of all places Boston) back in the 80's and Brad Delp had a nice set of Black Soloists with Ebony boards and no inlays.. looked cool as hell ..

Damn, those are huge! Very cool. Love the H/S layout, too. The Schecter I'm looking at also is H/S.

I guess no inlays can look cool with the right guitar but get on a dark stage and see how fun it is.

                          Re: Fingerboards with no inlays?

Easy, you just cut some dots out of glow-in-the-dark material and paste over the side dots.....voila.

                              Re: Fingerboards with no inlays?

My main guitar for years had no inlays. Now when I see em on other guitars it looks cluttered. But I get around with no problem. As mentioned already, side dots, but I'm so used to the board I don't even use that anymore.

I placed a custom shop order that will have no inlays.
