I just got this one today. PRS
Its a 1991 PRS CE24 in Tobacco burst.
I treated it to a nice polish and a complete set up.
These guitars are as good as EVERYBODY says they are. It is by far the loudest solid body guitar I have ever owned. It sounds frikkin huge. It was in tune and ready to play minutes after I restrung it and it hasn't gone out of tune in the slightest. The action is as low as any guitar I have ever seen and it has absolutely no string buzz at all. The playability is fantastic. This is an extremely easy guitar to play. Every position of the rotary switch sounds amazing, it plays amazing and although the pics make it look pretty beat, it looks much better in person. The top is really thick and has a very nice color to it. The wide/thin neck is the perfect profile for me. This is a pro instrument. I have had a ton of guitars and I rarely post reviews of them but this one is really something. I especially like the binding around the body. Very classy. There is a debate on whether or not the 1991 Customs have Brazilian rosewood fretboards. IMHO, this one does. I have had other Brazilians. The fretboard has redish/orange streaks in it and is very light. The guitar has perfect balance and weighs a little less less than a Fender Stratocaster.
This also has the small heel and was all hand made. PRS didn't have CNC machines until around 1995. It also has the highly acclaimed 1 pc bridge which was only offered on the early models. It is very nicely machined and the sustain block is gigantic. Anyway, there you go. This guitar is as serious as I will ever need a guitar to be.
One final note... the original PRS case it came in is 100 times worse looking in person!!
