But why is there a Fender style knob on there? Can't say I've ever seen one on any of Warren's Charvels before.

Warrens first Blood Drip & Skull had a Black Fender Knob on it:

Yup! Performance guitars aren't cheap and 3k is the least i can think of too. But the Japanese man who fixed my G&L 5 years ago sure knows what he's doing. And the guitars they made sure plays well.

Re: Let the games begin for De Martini fans

I think one of the reasons these originals of Warren don't have logos is that Warren erased them long time ago.
I can imagine many of his Charvels don't have logos now.

I wonder if the neck plays like Charvel or not.
Strathead but not 1 PC neck?
Maple on Maple?
I have owned several Strathead Performance guitars in the past and none of them had shape/vibe of Older Charvel.
They felt more like Kramer or Fender.

Maybe I should look for a GMW Warren Replica and have Warren sign the headstock.
That would be cheaper and probably plays better too.

Ok, I guesss I over looked that pic. I'll have to pull out some of my pics when I get home tonight and see if any of the others are like this. I also thought the blood drip started off with a pointy headstock neck and then Warren swapped that out for the strat head. Check out the video for Round and Round for shots of the pointy.

They did the signed headstock with Dweezil's signature back in early 90's.

I have 2 Performance necks . One of them is the DeMartini neck . This neck is slim and is perfect for me . I love the finish on it.
Neck shape is a personal preference I suppose .
I get your point though . To have the older Charvel vibe the guitars would need the same neck profile .

Re: Let the games begin for De Martini fans

One of my Perfromance guitars which was built for John Norum(he said it was built for Lynch..) had the best neck.
It was Birdeye Maple on Birdseye Maple and Strathead.
It had very slim and thin neck and oil finished.
Cream Strat body with 1hum,1single,originally had a Floyd but replaced with Vintage Fender type trem and Maple body.
That was a killer guitar until it got stolen from my car one day...
It was in 92 when I was attending MI in Hollywood and was my main guitar...
The guitar is still one of top 3 guitars I have ever owned and still looking for it.

Man , sorry to here that . Some lowlife stole your main guitar while you were at college !!
Remember the Performance Strat with the ash body on ebay a while ago ? I bought it . Chuckracer told me it was a Wayne body but I bought it anyway for the look .
I am simply blown away by this guitar . This is the neck that I am talking about . I don't really mind if the body isn't a Performance one . It is put together by a true professional , whoever he was .

Yea Mark, it did suck big time.
I had hard time finding a replacement of that guitar and and settle down with a Musicman EVH later that stayed with me for 6-7years until I got my GMW Dinky several years ago..
Right after it got stolen, I ordered a replica of that Performance guitar at ESP but it was never the same..
I still have a picture of my gear that shows the ESP and the EVH from 1992.
What a small room I used to live in..

It had a Screaming Demon and Dimarzio Chopper that sounded killer too.

Maybe one day I would order it at Performance guitars.
If not, GMW.

His other guitars had the usual metal dome knobs afaik!!

He actually had two Blood Drips w/Skull,the original "Round & Round" pointy that was Floyded & had a strathead put on it & had the Fender knob & another strathead with the same graphic & a metal dome knob!!Shoot me an E-mail thru my site & I'll send you the pic of both if you'd like!!
