If you are a Metallica fan you should have it painted with the Master of Puppets cover! even if you're not a fan you should do it then sell it...you would get ALOT for it!!

Just pointing out hat you guys let this gem of a set-up pass by and not goof on it. It's way too early for me to be funny and even I saw it.

Re: Paint it or Sell it?

Black would be easy enough for me to do. I stocked up on cans of laquer from Stew-Mac. I just thought black would be to boring. I currently have black hardware (Schaller Floyd), but I'm not opposed to going with gold. It will match my 1990 Trans-Am GTA.

Zerberus,
I had Lynch sign it in the trem cavity when I bought it at the ESP booth. It says "George was here. George Lynch". He told me to paint it Dante's Eagle. I've only seen one of these, but it didn't turn me on too much. Thanks for the heads up on the wing wood. This guitar is extremely light - I need to weigh it.

Newc,
Pee yellow huh? Sorry, I didn't think about the "Other Guitars" forum. And yes, 1989. Back before wife and kids. When I could go out and buy whatever the hell I wanted.

gemini8026,
It's been in a case all this time. It's in terrific shape - with a three pice maple neck-thru, it's really solid. I consider this extra drying time for the wood to age. Just like a 50's Les Paul. The fretboard was real thirsty, however. I gave it a special oil from Dr. Bore and it sucked it up. You can imagine what the skill levels were like back then - ESP's were going for above $2K at the time.

RR05xx,
GMW would be a possibility. I take it they do better work than anyone else? I've seen other painters, but with this, I just want a quality job. If I go for black, I would do it myself.

Bob From Accounting,
Good suggestion. Metallica was my fav back then, but they fell from favor after AJFA.

ChickenScratch,
I think Newc and jsullysix goofed on it.

Why not paint it white?

Then again you allready have the black paint so it's up to you, it would look pretty awesome with white or black, a graphic would be really cool especially MOP.

GMW are generally highly reccomended allthough there is a good few months wait.

Re: Paint it or Sell it?

I'd say black would be the best finish, but then that's just my personal fav. White with gold hardware would rock, also. That is just an amazingly awesome guitar, whatever you do with it.

Re: Paint it or Sell it?

I've thought of white, but like you said I am stocked up on Black nitro.

As far as the wait at GMW, it can't be worse than another 16 years...

Re: Paint it or Sell it?

Paint it black with the Blizzard of Ozz album cover over it. That would look amazing with the cross inlays!

Get it painted in that red snakeskin finish. That would look cool.

Quick question: I've never had a black guitar before, but someone mentioned they get finger prints on them pretty quickly. For those of you with black, is this s big deal?

Thanks,

You get finger prints on everything pretty quickly if you touch it.

They are just easier to see on black guitars. Just wipe your guitar off after playing. Which you probably should do anyway.
