• Gibsonnaturalexplorer what model is this? LargePix

Well, I know didilly squat about Gibsons, but I've been gassing for an explorer for a long time now, without a pickguard, and now this pops out:

From the info i've gotten so far it's all original.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Swamp Ash. Very lite, quite a bit brighter sounding then the all Mahogany models. Although I do believe these have a Mahogany neck.

Holy crap that's nice. Where is that for sale, I've never seen em come out of the factory like that, but I'm young, I haven't seen a lot of things

That's one of those newer swamp ash X-Plorer Studio models. They're a little smaller than a standard Explorer and are now discontinued. http://www.gibson.com/products/gibson/xfactor/dsxs.html

That's one of the nicest looking explorers I've seen. Very sweet! I had an explorer pro for a while(also with the scaled down body) and found it very comfortable.

They are the sweetest Explorer ever!! The size is much nicer to play on also. Jack.

I always thought these models were kind of interesting. The tone of swamp ash with humbuckers might make for some great sounds.

Swamp ash is very cool, kinda bright (at least my Carvin SC90 with swamp ash body and maple neck-thru is). A lot of Fenders also are swamp ash with bolt-on necks, of course, and sort of on the bright side, have a lot of spank to their sound. At least this Gibson has a mahogany neck so it should warm it up a little.

Oh man, that's a beaute!! Are you gonna put golden bezels on as well? Or keep it as she is now, kicking ass?

I didn't get this model, but I'm in the process of trading an SL2 for a near mint '85 Gibson Explorer (rear routed!). A guitar I've been looking for for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages.
