The white Fender is a Showmaster, no? Bolt-on or set-neck? How does the neck compare to the GMW?
I saw a similar one (...same?) on Ebay recently, and really dug it. I believe the auction got pulled early, though.

Yeah , that's the ebay guitar . I don't think it is a set neck . I believe it is neckthru .
The auction mentioned Showmaster , not sure where the seller got this from ? Nowhere on the guitar or Custom Shop Cert does it say this . It says Fender Stratocaster on the Headstock and the cert .
The neck is a lot slimmer than the GMW and it is painted . It doesn't feel like a Fender neck at all.
That is a setneck.
I had a Fender catalog from 90's.
When the last time I saw, it was on E-bay or on Harmony 3-4years ago and was owned by someone in California.
I know he said this is the only one done in White with Gold parts while other were done in Trans color with Black parts.
Also it is hard to see because of the color but the body wood is Maple top.
Also Chris Impellitteri has one in Silver Sparkle that once belonged to Joe Holmes.
Just checked all the paperwork with it . My bad - Set neck 1/7/93 . One of 26 according to the tag ?
This is the third one I have seen in the last year . The 1st one was in Germany , the second about 5 months ago in the US and now this one . They were all on ebay so maybe there is a chance that it is the same guitar ?
It would be cool if this was one of a kind , but I doubt it .
Toru , I am now real curious about this one . Any thoughts on where I could get more info ?
I have seen maybe 10-15 on E-bay and on some other websites in the last 5-10years.
I was always looking for one since the first time I saw it in the catalog.
You know I love Dinky, reversed headstock and Floyd..
I have seen Trans Red,Trans Black,Trans Blue(Purple-ish) and Sunburst.
Also There was a Silver Sparkle one that was made for Joe Holmes(now owned by Chris) and Black 1hum version(with Maple fingerboard) for Sambora.
These are one off made.
Also these had Floyd Rose Pro trems instead of OFR.
So if yours is equipped with OFR, that also proves it was one off made.
This guy who used to own one told me it was one off made and his asking price was pretty high like $2000 or even more... that is why i was unable to buy at the time(4-5years ago).
Most of these sell on E-bay for around $1000-1300.
I think you should post pics on thegearpage.net to see what people there can say about it.
Toru
It has a Floyd Rose Pro . Any chance of sourcing a pic of the Silver Sparkle one ? Even any of the other colors ?
I can't seem to find any info on the net , so I'll try thegearpage.net
Some of Impelliterri album covers feature that Silver Sparkle Dinky.
I think it was "Victim of the System".
I have some magazines that show this guitar but don't have a scanner with me..
Toru , the plot thickens
I found the pics of the German auction on my computer .It's the same guitar - same serial no.
The guy I bought it off in New Jersey ( very cool to deal with ) said he bought it from ebay a few months ago .
So , the three times that I have seen one of these on ebay are of the same guitar !! Your theory of a one off may be correct . The guitar is nearly 12 years old and is virtually mint

Great!!
So how does it play?
I know it has Dimarzio pickups.
Is the guitar heavy?
It plays beautifully . It is heavier than I expected it to be and sounds pretty bright but still very toneful.
Switch to the single coils and is is pure SRV . The brightness allows the single coils to come alive .Sometimes on a Strat with a Hum at the bridge , when you switch to the singles the sound is a bit dull . This one is perfectly balanced and has very little hum when using the single coils .
The Fender Strat sounds are there in spades . It should be a real versatile guitar .
I am getting help from the Fender Forum . Those guys are saying it is not one of the Standard Production/Catalog Guitars which were built in the Custom Shop , but a full blown Custom ( if you get my drift ? )
