Joe, did it look anything like this?

    [/ QUOTE ]
No, it wasn't that one. It was more of a lighter, subdued green, and it didn't have a pickguard.

I think I remember seeing one of those in a greenish finish one time.

Looks like an M1 Hybred. Volume/control cavity route and neck bolt design like a Kamikazi. Body and neck like a M1. I am still waiting for My M1 Tiger from Matt. It's been 3 months should be any day!

I've always loved that Vernon Reid guitar. Seems like it'd be a fun finish to do (and probably not too hard?) on a project guitar.

I think I know the guitar you're talking about. There's a guy with a webpage showing off his neckthru ESP with a similar finish, but a lighter shade of green and more of it. The owner claims it was originally owned by Vernon, but VR's guitar tech, Dennis Diamond, has confirmed that it never was. I'll see if I can find the link when I get home from work...

that finish looks like the "burning water" finish i saw somewhere. the "artist" said it was very hard to duplicate. in fact i think he said he wasn't able to recreate it the same again.
i think it's an interesting twist to the Jem swirl finishes but still along the same lines.

I understood it to be a very different process to the swirled Jems. I was lead to believe that the Kulick finish was a series of colours laid thinly over each other, and then the finish was sanded to expose the different colours, depending on the amount of sanding done to each section.

The Jem, on the other hand, is actually laid into a bath of already swirled paint, and then lifted out to dry.

I could be wrong though - it wouldn't be the first time

just for those keeping score, I found another last night but didn't think to post it....

And for Joe: here's that link I promised you. It's not the guitar you were talking about - this one has a pickguard too. My bad

You're talking about the Tyler, I think?

Yeah, that's how it's done. It's pretty easy to see when you see closeups pics of the guitar.

Also, I think this finish pre-dated the Jem swirls by a couple of years. (Not that it matters. I'm just sayin'.)

Yeah, the one I saw was more of a light green/blue from what I remember. I think it was on ebay last year, IIRC.

Hey, this stupid James Hetfield Truckster model almost seems to fit in the same category.
