A little while ago I had my first ever look at a Custom Shop Fender Strat that was aged/reliced from the factory. I could not beleive how crap it looked as they had done all the relicing and then fully clearcoated over them all!!!! What the hell is the point of that?
These guys love to clear over everything, they probably wish they could just dip the whole guitar in clear so none of it will get too dirty or tarnished. Sheesh....
This is of course coming from a guy who loves oiled necks, so the practice of clearing the back of a neck, and even worse, the front, is a bad thing.
Are all reliced Fenders like this?
