i just scored two..YES TWO!! maverick species guitars at a guitar show in manchester for £250....bargain or what!!!

the first is a species 1 serial number 00040 with a couple of dings i got for £99

and the other is a species 2, serial number 00005 that i paid £150 for

both are new and come with a 1 year waranty, these normaly retail at just over the £400 mark so as you can imagine i'm over the moon with my bargain of the week. [img]/images/graemlins/toast.gif[/img]

Very cool deal there. That chip in the first one shouldn't be too hard to fix either. Those pickups look odd. The poles look larger than normal. Do you know what kind they are? I haven't heard much about Maverick. Where are they made? I assume by the serial numbers that they are handmade in fairly low quantities.

I'm not too fond of the headstock, but that Species 2 is a pretty cool shape.

I really like the active pickup Mavericks. The necks are amazing and the sound is way cool. Shame they're not really that popular, they make great guitars. Well done on the scores, £99 for a maverick is great, wish i could get a cool thing like that for that little money
