Truss rod cover? That's nothing, you should see the rest of 'em.

You're a maniac. Thanks for convincing me to turn off my Norton Internet Security and log in using Internet Explorer to finally look at this thread.

That's a very tough call. One of the things I like about these guitars is that they're amazingly consistent. If you pick up one made in the last few years and like it chances are you'll like the feel of most others as well. There aren't massive differences in feel playability though of course tone varies quite a bit.

If I were forced to pick one overall it would probably be the green & orange tiki Roxie. That one is just so over the top visually and sounds so raw with those custom-wound Duncan P90s that it's tough not to put it at the top of the heap.

That said I'd say the best playing one in the lot (and keep in mind that I've not had time to dial them all in yet) is the black & silver Roxie. The differnce between it and most of the others is small but it just feels right to me.

Visually my favorite is probably the Explorer. It's *very* photogenic and sunlight really brings out the color but it's every bit as good in person.

Tonally I love the sound of the '59 in the neck position of the gatorburst Pawn Shop. The guitar has this huge hollow tone acoustically and that carries through the pups very well but particularly the neck position. I have nothing else that sounds even remotely like it ... though I hope to have another soon.

You have to take that statement in context. Comparing the playability of GMPs is more than a bit like the comparisons some owners are making amongst themselves concerning the new bike I'm about to buy ... the guys on the red ones believe that theirs go faster.

There are no dogs in the lot. If the checkerboard Roxie were graded at 100 for playability only one of the others would fall below the mid 90s and that's before I've had a chance to really dial them in. The consistency is really amazing.

Glad that you cornered the market on the GMP's. Increases my chances slightly that I may be able to own one of these beautiful guitars. I'm getting nostalgic about the GMP bass that I sold...I may contact the owner and try to buy it back...lol...

Since I mentioned this one as my all-around favorite I should probably add a few pics for those who've not yet seen it.

Yep. There are a few folks making those but Ron Thorn (who, I'm told, did these) probably does some of the nicest.
