Yep this one's absolutely amazing, you can barely see the edges of the flame decal they pasted on top!

Again Brad, awesome. Just awesome. The top is amazing. And what's the palm tree inlay made of?

I'm not sure Tom, it seems like nobody thought to ask but I did hear that Ron Thorn might have done the inlay. I'd guess that the island is probably spalted maple as that wood has a very unique grain pattern. The tree might be mahogany, it's the right color but the grain doesn't look quite like mahogany to me. No idea what the leaves are.

All I know is if you added a second palm tree, a hammock, and an bottomless cooler full of cold beer my ideal life would be right there on the fretboard.

                  That inlay rules.
Yea, it looks to me Mahogany with Spalted, of all Spalted but the tree part was painted in Brown.

That Explorer is one of the nicest things I've ever seen. Still trying to raise the funds to get my GMP collection started.

                    • GMP / Jackson Cross Breeding Program

It will probably come as no surprise to anyone reading this thread that I've acquired quite an affinity for GMP guitars. But there just seemed to be a little something missing on occasion, something that my Jacksons mostly seem to have. I couldn't quite put my finger on it so I thought a little cross-breeding program might be in order:

Ouch. Clearly something stronger was in order:

Weaufx. Not much better. But the result seems to have turned out OK and exhibits a few traits from either parent:
