The only thing better than a killer guitar ...

... is one that comes with a good story.

This one is a custom order placed by a JCF member who battled GMP over every detail as they resisted building the guitar to the specs he wanted. Eventually the order was placed and the guitar completed but GMP died just before delivery. The original purchaser tried to buy it and went through the "yes / no / yes / no" thing many of us heard from them at that time, he was then eventually informed that his guitar had been sold and he was out of luck.

After a bit of bouncing around the guitar wound up at my place. I vaguely recalled someone here having ordered a custom SG that hadn't been delivered so I contacted the person who’d placed the order and asked for a description of the guitar he’d ordered. It was a bit disappointing to learn that this was indeed the guitar in question as there was no way I could keep it and enjoy it knowing that someone else had ordered it, waited a year for it, then lost it at the last minute through no fault of their own. The original buyer offered me a better trade than I’d ever have had the nerve to ask for, then, when an absolutely smokin’ deal on a custom shop Gibson came up, later offered to let me have this one back.

It's a volume. The Roxies are the standard Gibson 2V/2T setup, they just put one of the volume controls in a weird spot.
