        Re: Help w/Fender strat ID

Thanks for the info, very cool! What surprised me is that I've owned dozens of guitars with maple tops... and this one actually changes when you angle it. I honestly think that anyone would be fooled with this thing.

If I keep it she's getting the fingerboard 12" radiused and jumbo frets... and yeah, it has a really nice tone as is. I need to pull the pickguard and see what the pickups are. Did the stock electronics include a reverse wound middle pickup so 2 and 4 positions would hum cancel?

        Thanks again guys!

Here's what the other fotoflames looked like... note how the edges are opaque. I've owned a few of these - decent guitars, but you can tell in a heartbeat it's fake if you tilt em. The guitar I have has that 3d thing going on.

Ooops. Got taht pic from chrisguitars.com, Chris says it is NOT a foto flame, but it looks just like one to me. Even the way the sides are offset slightly, and the way that the flame is so even and easy to photograph... Chris is a nice guy, but I'd bet it's not a real top.

Yeah, the mid pup is reversed. That one at Chris' has a fotoflame finish, maybe he said it's not a fotoflame 'cause it's not a fotoflame "series"? No way that's real wood. Check completed listings on ebay, you should find more of these. If he pulled the pg off he'd see.

BTW, checked out your clips, great stuff man. Got a link to any more info on that 3watter?

                Re: Help w/Fender strat ID

Hey, thanks. I had a fotoflame with the floyd rose, it was a cool looking guitar, but it was TOO good looking to be true, kinda like Chris'.

Regarding the 3 watter - it runs on 6V6 tubes, and is medium to low gain - so you can crank the power tube and saturate it. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] . I'm not building many amps these days, but I do one or two now and then.
