Re: \"It\'s ready for paint.....\"
The guitars that are in the paint que can be at the mercy of Dan. He has been extremely busy painting guitars for Charvel and the NAMM shows.
Lee will paint the solid color stuff...but all the graphic and burst work is Dan job.
I know it can be frustrating, but Dan works for others, not just GMW.

What's even more frustrating is getting a teaser pic of the axe in question knowing it is going to be absolutely killer when it's done. Lee told me 6 to 7 weeks left last week. I hope he's right. At month 26 it's getting tough to hold out.We must!

Re: \"It\'s ready for paint.....\"
Mine is just a simple Toru Blue and Lee has been quite candid that the delay is with himself.
I don't have any problem with the wait. I just think that it is funny that whenever he responds to one of my emails he says "..oh, and your body is sealed and ready for paint."
On a side note, the latest issue of Guitarist has a huge spread on Zakk and his guitars; including the web address of where he is getting his Rhoads guitars made. Me thinks that the wait is going to be another 4-6 months.

Re: \"It\'s ready for paint.....\"
He told me he has been busy with some Brian May guitars. I don't mind having a quality guitar take a while to build myself either. I'm not a fan of being put on that back burner just because I'm not a famous player though. I'm sure I'm paying more for my axe to be built than they are. That and seeing folks here post pics of their new GMW's that took a lot less time than mine. And they were ordered after mine. I will give him the fact that it is a neck thru and not a bolt on that he can do fairly quickly. But the paint it is getting is a pretty straight forward transparent finish. If it's not done in 2 months I may have to start assuming it may never get done and have a talk with my credit card company. We must!

Re: \"It\'s ready for paint.....\"
A year ago I got my Star body from Lee in 6 weeks from the time I ordered. Everything just kinda fell into place.
Lee said it was the fastest turn around in GMW history

Yup, ordered it the middle of March of 2003. I was told to expect 15 to 18 months turn around. So I expected it to take a while. Didn't quite bargain for this long though. We must!

Re: \"It\'s ready for paint.....\"
Memorial day weekend will be my 1 year mark. I shipped a soloist out to Lee for a refin and graphic in May 2004. I know I am at the mercy of Dan's schedule. But the wait will be worth it.
In the meantime, I'd like to see the new headstocks so I can make a decision and place my order for the next one.
