• Eric Johnson Strat on the way...

Just bought a 2 tone sunburst EJ strat, can't wait to get my hands on it (mid next week).

I've heard nothing but amazing things about them.

Yeah, this Sig. model is a special one. They sure did take their time on it to get everything right and the way they wanted it.
Congrats and please give a full review about what you think of it...
Does it come in sonic blue, I forget?

That is the Strat to have. Eric is a meticulous tone whore and I am sure that he would not endorse it if it did not sing.....

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

I can't wait to read your review. That looks like one killer strat. I love EJ's tone. The master of string skipping and octaves.

You will not be disappointed with that guitar. I played one at a local shop and it is incredible in every way. The pickups, neck shape, overall attention to detail...everything is amazing.

Please post some pics when you get it.

Re: Eric Johnson Strat on the way...

I saw some pics and reviews of the EJ strats on Harmoney and Gear page.
It seems like great guitar but also it looks slightly diffrent from the pics Fender posted.
The neck had thicker finish than I thought.
Also people said the neck is very fat and flat.
They said the neck back feels like LP58.

Flat fretboard with an LP-style backshape

So it's basically a Strathead Charvel

Yea, that is what 2 guys who bought them said.
Very fat neck with flat fretboard.

I have never had a Charvel neck like that but JCF01 had this fat neck with flat fretboard so...... it's basically a JCF01 neck with Strat headstock.

Well, I hope it's not that fat, but if it is I guess it will fit right in with my 58 Reissue LP. The neck on that thing takes up 2 zip codes.

I thought they had a V back shape on the necks?

Fat V?

If I'm not mistaken the neck starts out V-shaped then progressively turns to a C-shape with a fretboard radius of 12 degrees.

And if it had a rosewood fingerboard then I wouldn't have to go the Warmoth route to own my first Strat!
