I guess thats a narrowminded point of view.. what if someone loves LesPauls and wanted the stability and or abilty of a Floyd .. IMO everything is fair game

A buddy of mine has a Floyd-ed Les Paul, it's kind of neat but it doesn't really sound like a Les Paul anymore.

I think its awesome looking. Probably the only way I'd own a LP would be with a Floyd albeit non-recessed. I'd love a 3 pickup black beauty with a gold Floyd. I'm not too sure I fancy the maple board on this one but the longer I look at it the more I like it [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Years ago some punk kid in Southern California liked the playability of his Strat, but the sound of his Les Paul, so he put the Les Paul pickup in the Strat and an entire industry was born.

Fast forward to today, if a player likes the trem on his Strat, but the sound of his Les Paul...well, what's the difference? If Zakk Wylde or John Petrucci came along today playing a Floyded Les Paul as their main guitar, it would suddenly be accepted as a revolution in guitar design. I wonder if 30 years ago in some hypothetic chat room, folks were lamenting the swap, saying things like "Strat + Humbucker = No"! LOL!

I think it's great for the player that loves Les Pauls but needs a trem. Really nice work, too, which I think was Monte's original point in showing us this guitar.

Put me down for a "Killer"!

Floyd on a Paul? Neil Schon comes to mind. He's been doing it since floyds came out.
Bigsby ain't dead either IMO. There are Bigsby on Gibson and Fenders that have been staying in tune for many years before Floyd even existed. Depends on the player.

I saw in the Musician's Friend catalog <ugh, I know> that Gibson actually makes a Neal Schon Signature Les Paul with (you guessed it) a Floyd Rose...

Hi guys don't want to come across as being negative but at that price it is insane!!!! the trem rout on this is absolutely hideous beyond belief its way oversized and also the trem hasn't even been fitted centrally in this so it looks equal on both sides of the rout what on earth were they thinking about!!!!!!!!! also the inlays look a bit off centre and some don't run parallel to the frets. Surely GMW are much better than this or are they???? That has to be the worst trem rout I have ever seen and not only that it's ruined that lovely maple top as well, I really don't know how they would even get $35 for this let alone what they are wanting just my opinion on this. Yeah, my first thought with LP and Floyd, is Schon. That thing is really sweet, but the first thing i noticed was that hella big Floyd route. then again, i'm all about the non-recessed, i think they look better cosmetically as well...but man. Quilt maple top and maple fretboard...that sweet.

I've always loved LPs. I always thought to myself, "If they only had quilted tops and Floyds!" Needless to say, I crapped all over myself when I saw this one [img]/images/graemlins/drool2.gif[/img]

I agree though, 3500 clams is too much. CS will run you around that or less.

Wow.. that IS a very poor job on the Floyd install.

I'm quite shocked, considering who performed the work.. the rout is way too large, not to mention the Floyd itself doesn't look centered.

It was a good idea, just poorly executed.

The Floyd route is too large and it also looks crooked.

I think some of the problem is camera angle, giving the illusion of being crooked. Having said that, it does appear that the trem mounting screw on the base side is not fully seated like the treble side of the bridge. Maybe it's my eyes that are crooked. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
