Dude, I can't even think up a dream guitar I want. I've played Les Pauls, Strats, Flying V's and they all offer something so unique to my playing that I couldn't put all that in one guitar (This is what we call a "Gear Whore"). Think I'll just keep Dime in my heart and out of my wallet for now, lol

I've had that "too nice to play" experience, too. I had a Custom Shop Strat that I felt I should keep in the case, wipe down after playing, etc. Kinda takes the fun out of it, as far as I'm concerned.

LOL I think I own that one now and it's *almost* too nice to take out of the case.
Personally if you want it and can afford it I'd say, "Go for it!" I bought what, to me at the time, was an insanely expensive guitar in 1985, a new Jackson RR Custom. Still have it today and it's still one of my favorites.
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!
Yep YAO, you've got it. That was the most expensive guitar I've bought, and I experienced major guilt over buying it, then not playing it enough, or well enough, to justify the purchase.
The same fears have (thus far) stopped me from getting a Custom Shop Jackson. I'd love it (I think), but I'd also feel guilty about it, and I'm afraid I couldn't get comfortable with it, the way I can with a less extravagant guitar.
In fact, I have an SL2H right now that I feel bad about not playing. I'd like to de-gloss, and maybe shave, the neck, but it's too nice for me to do that to it, so I play my Warmoth with the unfinished neck instead, and the SL2H just sits.
Sheesh, I finally obtain a coupla high end axes, and then I don't feel worthy to have 'em!
LOL - That Strat *is* a great axe. I'm certainly not worthy of it (or anything else I own) either but that hasn't stopped me from enjoying the heck out of it. I had the drill out a few weeks ago and was all ready to mound a Roland GK-Kit on there when I decided to hold off for a bit.

Just buy it. I played one. They play and look killer. I've spent a LOT of $$$$ on guitars the past few years. My BC Rich's were not cheap. I love them and they always put a smile on my face. I have a new dream guitar every week. I used to be the type of person never to spend money and always regret years later not getting something. Treat yourself to something nice, dammit!
Oh man, here we go!!!! Custom Shop 7 String! I was playing my friend's 7 string yesterday and I loved it. I have my Explorer tuned down to B, but would be nice to take a soloist with me to practices and all (this is my biggest thing, why I bought a G&L, with no car I can't take my odd shaped guitars on the train and all). Plus I'll throw a 7 string trem on her How are the 7 string floyds, as good as the originals? I threw it in the custom shop generator and even the list price is cheaper than the Razorback. Think I'll keep her simple, Soloist, black, ebony board with Iommi cross inlays, neck and headstock binding, EMG 81 and 707 7 string pickups and black hardware. Lemme know what ya'll think. Oh man I'm excited now
I don't have the problem where if the guitar is too nice I'm not gonna play it. My only issue with it was the $ and if I really wanted it that bad. But this custom shop idea is gonna be basically everything I want. Don't feel near as hesitant about this idea now
