  • Fender relic or Japan re-issue + customize

I was looking to get a Fender relic strat but after making a 6100 Dunlop fret request the price jumped up from $2400 to $3300.I said screw that. Now I am looking to get a japan strat and have it refretted and reliced. Any opinions? Any better places to get a Fender relic? Anyone own one?

at that price why not get something custom from a smaller builder?
maybe a suhr, grosh or even a tom anderson...

I get my relic work done over at www.melodycustom.com by Nate.
There are several other places that do great relic work also, www.nashguitars.com and a few others...
www.usacharvels.com - info, pics and Charvel guitar discussion board. All things Charvel
My Charvel guitars - always one away from too many!

You can also go to rsguitarworks.net they are establishing a pretty good reputation from what I understand.

Thanks guys! I already own two Tom Andersons Data...I am glad someone appraciates them here! I was looking for something to bring to these open mic night jams. I had someone trying to talk me into a 1954 Fender reissue 5oth but they cost $3800! The Fender custom shop is backed up because of shutting down for a year to make the anniv. custom models.
