I for one did find it hard to abuse it, already putting a very tiny scratch on the upper wingtip made me nervous [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img], so I ordered a one-off look-a-like from Jim Reed,with a slightly adapted body, set-neck, Wilkinson trem, Kent Armstrong pups and locking tuners.. turned out pretty well in terms of playability and look-and-feel,.. and did cost me 1/8 of the LTD, so this pseudo LTD gets the beatings and I can still get a good [img]/images/graemlins/sleep.gif[/img].</p>

The same was done btw with a Sandoval Polka V, but with a reverse colorscheme.</p>Next in line is me trying to make one completely myself.. any of you guys did give this an attempt.. with result? Or did let one made (fairly) cheap?

I don't think he will accept a one-off as such, but you can always ask. The reason why he did make 2 for me is that I own an IcT company and part of a diversification process (read: I like to spent a lot more of my time with guitars nowadays then with IcT, so why don't make a fun sideproject of it and fund it from within my company), my idea was to offer some small runs of guitars like a Polka V but at an interesting price,so that seemed tempting to him I guess.
These are the 2 proto samples I've ordered from him.


We're still not started, but a sales price would be situated anywhere between $500 - $750.</p>

i had an LTD for 11 years, and for a few of those years, it was my main guitar, but one i was cautious with.

Well, those prices are sure right. I can't read Italian very well though!!! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

That Sandoval copy may actually cause me to overcome my aversion to pointy guitars!

Let us know if you do decide to have these made, I think if the quality is high at that price point...you will have a winner!

My RR LTD #60 pretty much never gets out of the case for more than ten (very cautious) minutes about once a week. Shame I know, but I just can't stand the risk of scratching it at a live gig.

I am sure you could find interested parties, but I would clear anything with the administrators.

Best move is to put one in a neutral party's hands, who can compare one of these guitars to the real deal...or a known replica like a GMW...and then you can see if the interest blossoms. This is how I always did it when introducing new product as I am a small watch distributor.

I am curious though, how do they play, feel, sound etc. compared to the real deal...since you seem to have them.
