Re: Anyone know anything about BC Rich Gunslingers

I won't give out the details but this time he is sure and can recall the whole incident. He says that Dan Lawrence had a hand modifying ST-III to Gunslinger with a couple of other people and that Dan still owns the prototype Gunslinger. I think we can count on him on this one. Well I count on him on everything he says he is sure about anyways.

      That's what I said J...

I know Neal left in '85...but he still knows all the guys who designed these guitars. I'm not professing to be an authority on BCR guitars...and there's lots, like yourself, who know a lot more about the history than I do. I retract my comments and speculation about the Gunslinger.

I'm not sure how they managed it, but they got it dead right with the Gunslinger. A good one is just frickin' UNREAL - they damn near play themselves!
Why,Oh why did I sell mine??

Ok Vintage guitar online has an article on BC Rich, quite informative. I did not know the NJ series were Korean made after '86.. I thought they were still MIJ. It seems at one point they were Korean made tho, even as early as '84 for some bolt ons which were completed in the US. The Assassin came before the ST3 and the Gunslinger, which according to this article were introduced in '87 at the same time or very close in timeline.

So I guess my guitar I thought was an outlaw actually is an older assassin, probably pre class axe. The Outlaw was the swiss cheese model.

Re: Anyone know anything about BC Rich Gunslingers

Assasins and Outlaws were Class Axe designed....no doubts about that. I was there (and built) the last Outlaw that left the Class Axe factory.

(Although Ed *fuckin* Roman may have had parts he bought from the sellout, and completed a few after the fact)

yes that article is so full of shit its not funny. Bernie Sr & Jr. were both infamous for giving out false info. Bernie designed the wave....thats funny, he likes to give himself credit for stuff that just isnt true. almost as good as the Denny's napkin story also a crock of shit. the dates & progression of guitars is also not correct. funny thing is he says the warlock is the only guitar he designed with french curves & stuff, well other than the seagull ITS the ONLY guitar he did design as far as i know.
