• some pretty neat lookin kit guitars....

hey guys, i've recently discovered grizzly.com. it's a tool company, but the CEO also builds acoustic guitars, so they cater to guitarists. in pokin around their site, i've found some pretty impressive kit guitars; one that even has a floyd. check it out:

i'm not a prs fan either, but considering the kit world is sparse for anything other than the saga crap, i thought it merited posting. not to mention, for what you're getting, that's a screamin' deal.

Wow! They have a strat kit for $150.

They have another version that costs $350 for some reason.

No details on that one. Looks like the body is swamp ash?

i think the 150 strat kit may be a saga. look at the more expensive one, it's got different inlays, and i think there's a few other differences.

no idea what the pickups are, and i've recently got some hardware from them. they've also got screamin deals on floyds, and i'll more than likely pick one up from them and report back.

Even if you have to get new pickups, it still seems like a pretty good deal. I'm not sure I have the skills or tools to put together a set-neck though. Someone who isn't me should get one of these and post a review.

I just noticed that they have ebony and rosewood volume / tone knobs. Pretty cool:

Thanks for the tip. Very interesting site. The licensed Floyds look very nice, and I like the fact that getting one in black does not carry an upcharge.

I'm VERY tempted to buy one of these and get my luthier buddy to put it together for me... damn you Toru and imposing your PRS-GAS on me.

Will do extensive research over the next few days. (Seems like we always wait for one JCFer to take the first plunge before the rest of us start diving in. )
