Okay, this is a long shot...
Many years ago, when I was a grotty teenager, I would avidly read all the UK "Rock" Magazines. We're talking early 80s here! At this time, I was not the guitar nerd that I have since become, but was still aware of the differences between Strats and Les Pauls and whatever.
Anyhoo, I distinctly remember reading about Blue Oyster Cult, and the custom-built Gibsons they were playing. These caught my attention because they were Flying Vees with Explorer-type front points. Yes, they did look like Dean MLs, but they still had the classic Vee-type 3-a-side headstock. IIRC, they referred to them as Gibson "Vulcans".
Okay it WAS a long time ago, but I'm sure I didn't dream it, and I was way too boring to do any substance abuse in those days!
Anyone able to back me up on this one??
