Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. To answer a few questions, yeah I got this guitar recently. If you look at the GMP site it's the one from the winter 2004 nam show. I had my eye on this as well as a few of the ones "yetanotherone" recently acquired (flag V, ghost flame roxy, double cut) but due to some confusion down at GMP during their recent demise, I wound up with only this and a black holoflake V I gave to my dad. I'll try to get some pics up of the other V this weekend. "Hammer"....rock on bro, nice V....think the only diff with our V's is the wrap paint job on mine. [img]/images/graemlins/toast.gif[/img]

In all honesty I'm not too sure that anyone really had any of those remaining guitars slip through their fingers. In my small universe of acquaintences I now know 8 people (11 if you count 3 dealers that I know made offers) who believed they had relatively firm deals to buy some, most, or all of the remaining guitars when GMP went under.

True story: yesterday I took one to my local music shop in the Bay Area to fit it for a case in preparation for trading it to another JCF member. The kid at the counter took one look at it and said, "Holy shit! Where did you get that? My buddy had a deal to buy all of the remaining stock when GMP went under but then they just vanished." What are the odds of that happening unless pretty much everyone who tried was left with the impression that they were going to get them?

I can't vouch for everyone else's offers or deals, but I'm close friends with Phil at GMP and he arranged for me to purchase the 3 other guitars I mentioned earlier. Someone screwed up (cough, Dave at gmp) and the 3 guitars they were to bill my credit card got sold over the weekend I was waiting to pass so they wouldnt sit at fedex's location w/o cases.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you were able to score them and I really can't blame gmp for trying to get for what I'd assume was more money or the convenience of not having to ship them out cross country.

It's just a shame they had to go under so suddenly, their guitars are awesome.
