Don't even mention Impellitterri or Stump! If there is ANY music or musician that can litteraly make me sick to my stomach with their wanking it's these two guys. And Bellas, aside from his 'fastest normal playing guitarist ever (behind the not-so-normal Marcus Paus) isn't any better.
Yngwie, however, is a god! Which he demonstrated to me sunday, when he played perfectly, rocked out, threw a pick to me and had shitloads of fun.

Anyone remember the video of the guy sitting in the dark room with the strat (white I think ) talking about how it was late but he could not sleep and he was afraid he would wake everyone up.That guy was a monster on a strat....anyone save that BTW?

Yup, that was Bob Zabek. Unfortunately his official website seems to be down for the count... I cannot seem to access it but I remember his videos were on there for download, including that awesome Blues Shred Jam video a JCFer posted before. Here was the thread:
This is a bitchin thread guys. I am able to shred on anything I own at the time. Right now I have a trans blue DK2 and my DK2LE. They are both excellent shredders. A few years ago I had nothing but Fender Strats, (MIM Standard Strat stock w/ no mods and a Tom DeLong Strat w/ Invader) and a Tex-Mex Tele w/ a humbucker in the neck. All of them had 21 small frets. I could shred on all those guitars effortlessly. I figure if I think I sound good doing it's good enough that others would think it was good. Hmmmm. Anyway, like a few others here said, if you are comfortable with it, you can shred on it.
I can shred on all my guitars, but the feel is different..
My washburn and esp are the hardest to shred on.. maybe because of the bigger frets and heavier gauge..
On my Ibanez I can play pretty fast but I'm really starting to hate those wizard necks.. too thin.
My fav shred guitar is my strat. 21 frets, maple neck/fretboard, s/s/s.. nothing fancy.. just the feel is so good and the tone is so sparkling clear even at a higher tempo. you can hear every note you play (and also the mistakes you play )
"I hate these filthy neutrals! With enemies, you know where they stand. But with neutrals... who knows? It sickens me!"
Michael Lee Firkins ripped it up on his Yamaha pacifica custom on his hot licks video. I shred on my yamaha un custom pacifica that cost me £50 and is my main guitar!
Django Reinhardt picked as fast as Paul Gilbert on a 1935 Macaferri acoustic and he only had two fingers on his left hand!
Oh, one other Fender player that we some how all missed:
Dave Murray.
WTF is wrong with us? I wouldn't put him on a Malmsteem level, but he rips it up nonetheless. In fact, I think all of the players in Iron Maiden used Fenders at one point. Steve Harris could be found with one, and he's an awesome bassist! I love how he keeps the bass line intricate, I wish more bassists would do more than just fatten up the guitars.
I could answer this question better if I could actually shred!
On the subject of shredding style guitars, though, has anyone here played a G&L Invader? My apologies if someone already mentioned this...I was too lazy to read all the replies first!
