• Strat info needed please!

I came across this strat and I was wondering how much it is worth..

this is the sellers description:
hello im selling a olympic (bright) white fender stratocaster from 1986

ive searched the internet for some information and this might be a japan made because there was no production in usa "86 (i think)

remember : what u see on the pictures thats what u get there are sensors in it but i do not know what kind if you do know the answer please tell me so i can change the advert

ps serial number E629289 & neckplate says corona

so.. what do you think? worth anything? really a japanese model? are they any good? anything else?

I like this one because 1986 was a cool year for me and I love white strats/maple necks..

thanks a lot

this is a contemporary strat, made in Japan between 1985-87, with the Fender system trem I;
the pups and knobs are not original;
resell value is low on these, anywhere between $225 and $275, but I certainly like 'em.. I think they're very much bang for the buck
oh yes, make sure that the trem arm is included!

Made in Japan. Changed pickups and knobs, I think it's a Contemporary Strat if it has that bridge. Locking nut sucks (I've had at least 5 of them) They are really nice guitars and better than the MIM Strats IMO. I don't think they sell for much though, It's probably worth 4-450.00 with case but I would want it cheaper with that trem as opposed to the Vintage trem.

"And belgium wins the race"! I see them all the time for 3-4 hundred dollars but I would need it as cheap as Pebber says to withstand that trem. If it doesn't have a bar, Budman has them cheap.
How much is he asking?

These are very nice guitars. Rhe resale value is low because you can't just swap out parts like you could on another Strat that didn't have that trem. Same guitar with a vintage trem would be a lot more. It should be a fine player, though. For 250 that's money very well spent, I would think. The 80's Japanese strats are generally considered very good quality.

thanks a lot guys! it comes with the tremolobar and without a case.

it's on dutch ebay, two days left and it's at 130 USD.

I mailed the seller with some q's. He expects 700-1000 euro(!!) for it. I'm not going to pay that much for it obviously but I want it pretty bad.. I'll just see what happends in the auction and try to get it at a fair price..

thhanks again

just got another mail back from the seller. Turns out he doesn't have a clue how much the guitar is worth and he asked me if his expectations are too high.

I told him some things and he'll give me a set of strings if I win the auction..

two days left, guitar is at 150 USD.. we'll see what happends..

The Fender System 1 trem is not bad. A friend of mine has a Squier with one. I set it up for him and it stays in tune pretty well and flutters like a Floyd! It's great! I hope you win it!

Those always played pretty good. The price ain't too bad (as long as it don't go up too much) Only problem is they aren't "swaptronics" ready. LOL! (you know, swapping parts from other strats) Still, it would be a nice guitar to have.

Re: Strat info needed please!

yeah, the swaping parts thing isn't a big deal to me.. as long the trem doesn't break or something haha
I'm going to change the volume/tone knobs, but those can be found anywhere so that's not a prob..

good news, the seller cancelled the highest bidder. That bidder had too much negative feedback.. so.. it's back to US $127,50
