What would be a good price for a jake e lee model ESP? Someone is selling one local for $900, here is the description.
"Rare Jake E Lee ESP Strat - Black with White Pickguard - Rosewood Neck - Alder Body. 12 jumbo frets - 10 medium. Plays fast and clean. Totally original.

(reviews of guitar) http://www.harmony-central.com/Guita...E__Lee-01.html

Guitar is clean and rarely used. When purchased new - the guitar was $1800.00 ESP still makes these as a custom item.

$900 serious buyers only. Comes with ESP hard case.

For that much you could put one together from warmoth parts and have a strat headstock. I wouldnt say that is a bad price but there are lower cost options with the same or better quality of instrument to be had.

They usually go for around $800. www.Drumcityguitarland.com has three new ones in different colors for just a few hundred more.Jason's are custom shops, the old ones were production guitars,There is a difference in quality IMO.The short scale, or gibson scale, necks are amazing and very comfortable.Let us know what you do.

Yeah, it might be worth it if it were a different color, but the black ones are the most common. They also came in white and purple.I forget if there were any other colors.

They are great guitars though, i love mine.

sorry guys have to do a little resurrection here
i recently got one
just got a aftermarket pickguard and electronics but otherwise cool
just look and judge

yes the neck is scalloped from the 12th upwards
just have to put a charvel sticker on the ESP logo and find a proper pickguard now

Why would a Jake signature guitar have a vintage trem?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Re: jake E Lee ESP

You know, i would really put together your own parts guitar and make it look similar to Jakes guitars. I would work out 1/4 of the price and probably just as good.

It's what i plan to do some time soon

but why should a Malmsteen strat have a "Jake E Lee" headstock
very confusing
could someone please shed some light?

hey chuckracer
happy b-day first

yes the only strats with vtrem he ever played were the holdsworths

so what do you guys think
what parts are legit on that axe
neck at least?
but looks not like any other ESP Jake model i have seen
they all had natural headstocks iirc (and hardtails as been said)

btw what does the "C" in/behind the ESP logo mean? custom shop?
so maybe this could be a one off based on a Jake model?
ah this confuses me
i should stick to JC guitars......

that looks nothing like any of the jake esp models i've seen; they all had the fake strathead, and his real signature on there. then again, that coulda been a japan only model or something....

the c probably stands for copyright.
