You put your fingers in between the frets and pluck the string..... DUH

I played one abotu ten years ago and thought it was pretty killer. Fat neck that was surprisingly comfortable to play.

As for the extra frets, they're good for My Guitar Has More Frets Than Yours contests.

The import Hamers (Korean) are pretty nice, but the Slammer series (China, Indonesia maybe) are really crummy. Put together awful, super sharp fret ends, fret buzz city, etc. In fact I've never played a Slammer that was worth a shit. I'd recommend putting up a few extra bucks and going for the import Hamer over the Slammer series. For the slight price difference, it's worlds apart in terms of how much better they are.

The Slammer series is made for one thing.... to be slammed into the stage when the gig is over. I heard because of the sharp fret ends they give you a coupon for a free tetanis shot with every guitar. If you are gonna go Hamer, go USA. The Chapparels and Diablo's are awesome.

He's talking about an older Slammer 27-fret Californian... I don't think those are made in China or Indonesia. The newer import Californians only have 24 frets.

I thought that all the Slammers were made in Korea or Indonesia.

I had an old Slammer Cali many years ago. It was made in Korea, and it was a really nice guitar, with a VERY thin neck that spoiled me for most other necks. it didn't sound great, and I replaced the bridge pickup with a Full Shred, which also didn't sound great, IMO. One of the tuners started to slip. I'd say the older ones are nice guitars as far as the body and neck goes, but plan to replace the electronics and possibly the tuners.

I've got an import Cali, and it rocks. It sounds great through my Laney VC-50. Plus 27 frets are great.
