All right, what's the general consensus on these? Here's my impression: Korean import version of the Gibson SG. The flame maple veneer is strictly for looks only, very thin, simialr to the import Jackson maple tops. The electronics and pickups are probably crap. The nut would probably need replaced. While the inlay work and overall build quality are a little sloppy, it seems like a solid guitar.
Here's the deal, my sister got me one of these for my birthday. I'm at my parents' house with no access to an amp at all. I know that if I keep it, I will be swapping out the pickups, electronics, nut, possible the tuners as well.
She's going to mail me the receipt so I can exchange it if I want (she lives a block away from Guitar Center). I'm thinking I'll probably exchange it for something else. I've got about $300 extra I could kick in, but it wouldn't be enought to get a USA anytihng.
What are you guys's (and gals') opinions?
