J/K man, he's an amazing player. I always loved those N4s, too. Can you tell a big difference in tone between the different woods? That Korina N4 is the shit.

I think that´s a special neck joint to improve upper fret acces.
A pic of the back would explain I suppose...

It's actually a part of the neck. It has Stephen Extended Cutaway written on it with the patent numbers and made in the USA on there also.
