Re: check out this frankenstrat replica in progres
i'm torn on this one.
on one hand, i can really appreciate the amount of time invested, along with his keen attention to detail. it's kinda like how i think the whole relic process is cool on an artistic/scientific level. on the other hand, is it just me, or does it seem a little odd that people are going to such a level to recreate identical copies of work done by someone with woodworking skills that would make dr. newcenstein scream in horror? it's kinda funny when you think about it. at least it is to me.

and scratch too...
he spent $1500 sourcing a PAF pickup prior to sending it to seymour duncan for a custom evh hand wind (who knows how much that would cost). he also spent $225 on a 3 way tele switch.

Re: check out this frankenstrat replica in progres
i was thinking, oh boy a whole board devoted to an egatistical asshole, yeah he can play his ass off, but still.
personaly i would rather take that money and buy one of the EVH series, what would you rather have, a guitar you built to look like his original that was beat up, fucked up, or a guitar that the man had his hands all over and helped with the design
Re: check out this frankenstrat replica in progress
Pretty cool if you are a Van Halen fanatic. It is ironic the time and precision someone will endure to reproduce a guitar that built in little time with no precision.
