Looks to me like a reissue neck that was put on a regular Am Standard Strat. Could very well have come from the factory like that, stranger things have happened.

Have you pulled the neck? I there a stamp or anything on the neck or in the neck pocket?

Nope, reissue necks don't have those tunners, they don't have those string trees, they don't have headstock truss adjustment, they don't have MJ frets, and they don't have 22 frets. American Standards do, however, have all of those features. It is a '95 American Standard neck with the top of the headstock refined and a boot leg decal added.

Why the hell would they go and refinish the headstock?

Maybe I could buy a bootleg decal, and keep it on there, for when this one comes off.

Kind of gay...I've got a Strat...it's 100% legit..but the fucking decal is booted...what the hell!

stranger things have left guitar factories before haha. as for the decal, yeah a replica could be an option also. or if you don't mind how it is now you can add clear over it to keep it in the condition it is now so it wont get worse. or if you have a helpful local luthier or tech or guitar shop that has a connection to fender you may be able to get a real fender decal from them if you send them pics of the guitar and the headstock (front and back with serial number). fender is most times reluctant to do that due to fakes but yours seems to be legit and going through a luthier, tech or shop will help your chances of getting a new decal for restoration use.
