I've always hated the way people pronounce Epiphone. Eh-Pih-Fone. Eccccchhhh!
Then, something dawned on me. Eh-Pih-Fone is such an ugly word that MAYBE there's a faint chance that Epiphone was pronounced like EPIPHANY, much like Persephone is pronounced Per-Sef-Oh-Nee and NOT Per-Seh-Fone.
I swear, I'm not high. Wanna shed some light about Epiphone's history, other than the fact that it was named after Epaminondas (Epi) Stathopoulo?
