Has anyone played or seen in person a guitar from Ran Guitars? (Poland)

I've been checking out their website (www.ranguitars.com) and while their designs are all pretty derivitive, some of them look pretty good, and the cost for the specs (Schaller Floyd, EMGs etc) is pretty damn reasonable, especially for European prices...
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Do a search in this forum, there's been several threads on them.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Isn't too much about them. My fiancee (from Poland) searched some Polish newsgroups for me but there wasn't much other than the occasional "Ran guitars rock" comment.

Everything I've read about RAN has been great. I was considering getting one for a while but my gas for them faded slowly. All the reviews have made them look like great guitars, especially for the price, except one. I was browsing myspace and came across an Irish fella with one so I asked him about it. He had a mahogony explorer with shark fins (don't like them on an explorer myself) and he said it played horrible. He said it felt like a Squire but sounded great. I can't remember everything else he said but I remember him saying something about having Ibanez and how the explorer needed the wizard neck. My guess is the guitar plays fine but he's used of playing an Ibanez with a trem and a really thin neck and just can't get used of the bridge on the explorer.

as a person who lives here (Poland) i can say that they aren't as popular as you'd think. There was some talk about their inconsistency , making either great either sucky guitars + something about making guitars from undried woods.

Some of the guys in the metaltabs.com-messageboard own some RANs and they really love those. Maybe you should e-mail some of them.

I'm getting mine in a few week's so I'll let you know about it, many guys off the metaltabs forum have some and seem to like em one guy out of at least 10 was slightly dissapointed but thats due to his fretwire choice and pickup choice, he later decided a jb/jazz would be better than a single 81, but ive made sure that i've specced mine exactly how I want it...
