• What's my rig worth?

Vandy exp with Toni Iommi black chrome pickup in bridge
Slammer bass (Hamer knockoff)
Boss distortion pedal
Akai distortion pedal
Dean Markley KE-50

Just wondering because I've got some car problems and I'm wondering if I can get enough out of my stuff at a pawn shop.

Thanks for any replies.

dude it doesn't matter what it's worth, the pawn shop will give you what they want. i'd figure you'd get about 75-100 for the vandy, 25 for the bass, 10 each for the pedals, and i don't know about the dean markley. sorry.
GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

None of it really worth enough to be worth selling. I'm not trying to be a dick, but unless you have a Gibson, USA Jackson, or something of that nature, you will get less for it than it is worth to you. Some of my favourite guitars would probably not bring over $400 on ebay, but they are valuable to me. Make sense?

Yup, understood. I actually planned on getting a Gibson someday just to help get me out of little jams like this!

Thanks for all of the posts, and sorry for the late reply.

Yup, those sound about right actually. I never went to the pawn shop, I took out a loan instead. I just wanted a second opinion, or maybe a reference as to whom may be able to get me a better deal.

Again thanks.

I'd go mow some lawns or rake fukkin leaves before I get rid of any gear at a pawn shop. Sell some clothes. Maybe make a lemonade stand or something. What's wrong with your car?

If you must sell that stuff, Ebay is going to be your best bet. Pawn shops wont give you anything, probably like $100 for the whole rig.

Pawnshops are assholes, they check ebay for recently sold items.

My friend bought a guitar for dirt cheap and wanted to sell it beacuse he needed cash. They put ebay up and offered the guy 50% of what he paid for the guitar because they found his guitar.

.10 on the dollar is the most you will get out of a pawn shop. Musicians pawning musical gear usually get less.

That's right, and even that's only if it's Gibson or Fender. Jackson and Charvel are even considered off-brands, at least when the pawnshop's buying. Amps and pedals you don't get dirt for. I once went in to get a loan on my '77 Les Paul Standard at my favorite shop, Angelo's in Santa Monica, and also asked about getting a loan on my '78 50-watt JMP master volume head. I'd been dealing with them for about 5 years and had a good relationship. They loaned me $150 on the Les Paul and told me $40 for the JMP head! They don't pay jack for amps, even compared to guitars.

Keep in mind too that .10 on the dollar is what they give you and they base their pricing on USED prices. For example:
A Marshall TSL might be $1500.00 new but used they only sell for around $800.00 used. At the pawn shop you will be lucky if you could squeeze $100.00 out of them for it.
A USA Soloist might have cost $1200.00 new and sells for around $800.00 used. At the pawn shop you will probably get offered between $90.00-$100.00 for it tops.
