hey guys, just got back from the guitar store and i put a deposit on a very nice spot production Ibanez RG1550FM. You won't find this guitar on a website or catalogue as this is very limited edition. Here it is:
93 USA Soloist EDS
USA HT6 Juggernaut
Charvel DK24FR
The neck is really thin, but surprisingly the tone is great and so is the sustain. Flame maple top with a mahogany body. Sound's very chunky with rhythms and smooth with leads.
I think it's a 2004 model, i'm not too sure. Ibanez produced two models of these spot production guitars, one being the one above the other being a blue flamed maple, pearloid scratch plate, ebony fret board with shark tooth inlays.

ACK!! Don't show me stuff like that... I am a big Ibanez head... it's better that I don't know certain models exist (especially since I'm up to a half dozen MIJ's right now)
Cool looking guitar although I've only ever played one Ibanez with the RG/Jem body style that I thought sounded good (1988 DSY Jem 777), so I typically steer clear of those guitars. I hope yours is an exception.
Nice guitar.
I love the new roller trems they're putting the high end RG's and Jems. Very smooth.
I still have my 87 RG 550/560 hybrid that I'm considering upgrading with one of these new trems. Just hard to find on ebay lately.
I think you made a good choice there.
Yes mate, Jeff was really helpful and understanding with me, as i was having second thoughts at first. But i thought, f*ck it

I'm guessing the great tone and sustain has to do with the maple top and mahogany body instead of the usual basswood that is used for RGs. Congrats BTW, it looks sweeeet.
