Re: Jeff Loomis and Warmoth

why do they call it a soloist if its a bolt-on?

and anyone else notice that those questions and answers were taken straight off a Guitar World segment?

its ok, Warmoth, i still love you.

I wonder why they didn't slap a "warmoth" sticker on that? would of def got them more business.

Re: Jeff Loomis and Warmoth

I've seen figure mahogany before and if anyone can get it Warmoth can, they get the wierdest stuff (wierd in a good way). And any wood has "figure" it just may not be defined like flame, quilt or burled. Usually they don't refer to something as figured unless its pretty defined though. The piece of figured mahogany was interesting, it had vertical flame creases throughout the top, quite striking actually. Similar to how flame koa and walnut get "streaks" of flame figure.

This I must see...figured mahogany.

Ask and you shall recieve Just like most woods flame and quilt figuring pop up. I've only seen flamey/wavey mahogany that is figured. However in looking for an example for you I stumbled across this..
Quilted Mahogany
Wild isn't it?

Re: Jeff Loomis and Warmoth

I just talked to a good friend of Jeff's who hasn't talk to Jeff since he got a new woman...this is true...I guess Jeff is happy with his woman..which is nice..

well anyway , the story is that Ibanez MAY be working an endorsement deal with him on a seven string...maybe..

I showed my friend Toe-Joe's modified RR7 reverse...and told him Jeff should be playing something like THAT shit!!!!!

He agrees 100%..

If I were Jackson..I snatch Jeff up ASAP ..he would be the Big Dawg of their roster!!!!

because I have a very STRONG gut feeling Jeff IS going to be the EVH of this decade...and this will happen very soon!

They should grab his ass before THEY do...

yes they already have Vai and the Jem...but they want a new METAL shredder...

no more Korn on the cob crap....a REAL AMAZING player!!!!

BTW..That's not Jeff's place in that pic...it's the studio....and he doesn't use Krank...He's a Peavey XXX endorsee..That Krank is NOT his.

Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

No actually, you are wrong. Both Steve and Jeff got endorsed by Krank and reportedly they are using Krank amps on Gigantour right now.

Re: Jeff Loomis and Warmoth

he may be using them on tour...but as a endorsee ...that is not what I heard at all..

it's from a good source...this dude knows and talks to Jeff all the time..he's the one that intoduced me to Jeff..

so I think he's giving me some pretty good info here...

I heard he's using his Peavey head on tour...I'll be seeing him pretty soon..

I'll ask him...yeah, that's an idea..

He did mention that Steve did use the Krank..but NOT Jeff..

I guess you will see.

It was the other way around. Jeff started using Kranks, Steve didn't wanna give up Rectifiers, but on this tour they are playing through Kranks.

that was just the last news I heard..my friend said he hasn't talk to him in 'bout a month..or so..that he's with his woman..

To me ..no matter what the hell he plays ...from PODS to Triaxis..Jacksons , Esp....it sounds like Jeff..

He should be playing a Jackson ...I think!

The first time I seen him..he just whooped my ass on that RR1..I never seen a Jackson played to shit like that!!!

I saw that guitar. Was linked on one of the wood suppliers websites. That thing is BADASS. That Koa has insane flame to it too. Dude even managed to do flamed koa laminated trem and control covers!

And thats just Honduran Mahongany I think. There is Sapele Mahogany (not near as durable from what I understand but still in the same family) that has heavy heavy quilting. Its pretty amazing looking around those wood supplier sites because alot of them have links to some absolutely stunning boutique guitars.
