I'm trying to figure out what the hell fingerboard wood that is? It looks amazing. Cocobolo would be my best guess. Nope..its figured Brazilian Rosewood according to the website, and it was built by a guy who works at the wood supplier, no wonder he got such insanely figured woods

          That's some serious wood.

So Loomis and Smyth are both using Krank, eh? I never thought anyone would get Steve to give up he Mesa gear. Maybe they're actually getting paid...

who knows anymore...I can't keep track..buy the time they dial up a sound they like..they change it..

but one thing remains consistant...whatever the hell they use..it's still sounds like nevermore...

Krank took off because of Dime ..I think he was the first main endorsement right at that time of his death..I love Dime but his choice of amps kinda blew IMO..the old Randall RG 120 and RG 80 were pretty cool sounding.. for recording. But Always thought those warheads were horrid and lifeless sounding..I heard he really didn't use those heads really.

but what he did use it worked for him...that's a fact!

I saw that guitar. Was linked on one of the wood suppliers websites. That thing is BADASS. That Koa has insane flame to it too. Dude even managed to do flamed koa laminated trem and control covers!

And thats just Honduran Mahongany I think. There is Sapele Mahogany (not near as durable from what I understand but still in the same family) that has heavy heavy quilting. Its pretty amazing looking around those wood supplier sites because alot of them have links to some absolutely stunning boutique guitars.

Most of the Sapele I've been able to check out has been unbelieveably heavy, though it does look cool.

Heh... Jeff = God, for sure.

He's also the new columnist in Guitar World; this month he showed in detail how to play the solo and chorus in Final Product.
