Just wondering what some of you JCF'ers grab when its time to go unplugged. I've been getting into the acoustic more lately than I ever really did in the past. I play a Breedlove C12 for its smaller body and fast, electric style neck (reminiscent of a Taylor), but I would like to add a few more pieces to the arsenal. Let's hear your thoughts. Re: Unplugged
Wow, that's a seriously nice Breedlove. Love the fact that Breedloves don't look like the acoustic everyone and their brother makes. Killer bridge design, too.
I have a Santa Cruz OM, Ovation Adamas SMT and a Lucida classical. Not a huge acoustic player, and I can't stand all the humidity fuss with high end acoustics, which is why I picked up the Adamas. Really, really nice sounding guitar (and I never plug it in), immune to climate issues, electric guitar style neck. Very cool.

Re: Unplugged
I have numerous acoustics in my collection. My #1 is a Guild Dce-1. I also have an Alvarez 12 which is amazingly nice sounding for the price i paid. I have a Seagull which is effortless to play. My Charvel 625c is really cool too. I definitely want an Ovation as well. They have such a unique soundLook Up...Get Up...And Never EVER Give Up...

Re: Unplugged
When I talk about "unplugged", I'm literally talking about playing UNPLUGGED. I actually practice unplugged half the time.
If you're talking about ACOUSTIC, I'm back down to one...

Re: Unplugged
I've got a Taylor Big Baby right now, and it sucks. Action was insanely high, intonation is way off, and it sounds like a cheap Taylor to boot.
My next acoustic will be another Seagull or a Martin OM Bodied guitar. I want something with a smaller body and a cutaway.

How do you like the Santa Cruz? I played a few of these and they sounded great...more traditional than my Breedlove.

It's a killer guitar. I realy like the sound of the smaller "OM" size acoustics. I would bust it out for any recording I had to do. As it stands, I don't even keep it at home since I don't really have the facilities to store it safely--it's too delicate. It resides with my parents on the other end of the country Great sounding guitar, though. One of the best acoustics I've played.

Re: Unplugged
I either pick up my Martin D-28 or Seagull 12-string. I got the Martin because I grew up listening to my family play bluegrass music, so that is the sound of an acoustic guitar to me. The Seagull is an absolute cannon, it is the loudest 12-string I have ever played, and does not have that overly bright sound that most twelves have.

Re: Unplugged
I have a super cheapo Samick acoustic. It plays pretty good, and cost me $150, not to mention that it looks really nice. The good part is, I can take it out to the beach, sit around a campfire etc, and not have to worry about getting it fucked up.
